5 Ways to Shop Cheaper and Smarter Online
Using technology to purchase cheap goods is easy. If finding a bargain hasn't been quite your luck, it is time for you to get into the grip of online shopping and see the benefits of it. You will be amazed by how much you can save compared to traditional in-store shopping by following these few tips.
Sign Up to Newsletters
One of the first things I do when I visit a store that I am interested in is to sign up for their newsletter. This way, I can be sure that I will be the first to hear about any new deals. Some stores even offer certain incentive such as if you have not made any purchase before, you will be eligible for some special first-time shopper discounts.
Use Social Networking
If signing up to newsletters is not something you prefer, another way is to simply click on the store's Facebook's Like Button on their website, and you will automatically be signed up to receiving all the latest deals from their social media profile. Many online businesses are using social media as a platform to get deals across and attract customers, so make sure you don't miss out. Needless to say the amount of time we spend on Facebook each day, it won't take long to see those special offers popping up from time to time.
For example, ASOS is famous for posting new coupon codes on their Facebook page very often.
Use Coupons and Promo Codes
Many online stores have an option to enter discount codes near the checkout process. If you are able to get your hands on these codes, you will be able to enjoy a few percent wiped from your total cost. There are several websites that specializes in offering such promo codes.
Some websites that I use include ChameleonJohn, Promo Code Club and Retail Me Not. On these sites, you can find many great online deals specifically made for the biggest name brands. For instance, there are a huge amount of online promo codes for Target.
Avoid Shipping Fees
Buying may be cheap, but the fee to have your purchases delivered to you can add up quite a bit. Many stores offer free shipping if you spend over a certain amount of money. Use this opportunity to pick up extra goodies from the clearance area. In some cases, you may find something costing the same price of the shipping fee.
The best way to shop online is to be patient and wait. If you don't need that item right away, it pays to check back daily. For example, you may want to revisit the store every two weeks to see if a new coupon has popped up or if the item you have your eyes on has been put onto the clearance page.
