Will God Grant Your Most Fervent Wish?
At least once in our lifetime, we experience something that makes us feel desperate such as not having enough money. During those times, we find ourselves imploring divine intervention to get us out of trouble. But does it work?
The On-Going Debate
Asking for favor from God (and being granted what we asked for) is a subject of many debates. Believers whose prayers were answered contend that reaching out to a mighty being helps. Those who were not fortunate enough to have their prayers answered lose faith. Non-believers argue that prayers will not be granted because there is no god.
Why Do We Continue to Pray
During the most desperate times, we reach out to someone or something that will help us out of our situation. We don't know if our prayers will be answered, but we still utter them.
That's what we call faith. Regardless of any person's beliefs or religious affiliation (or non-belief), we as humans always have faith-we believe!
Without faith, religious or otherwise, we cannot continue living a meaningful life. Even people who don't believe in God still believe in something. They believe that there will be someone who will come and help them out of their problems-be it a friend, a family member, or even a stranger.
The Power of Prayer
Our prayer is not just an act of asking for something. It is our way of expressing our grief, sorrow, and desperation. It is our way of reaching out, a release of all pent-up emotions and frustrations. At times, the act of praying is more important than getting the answer to our prayer.
By expressing our inner thoughts, we are able to get all negativity out of our system. It helps clear our minds and lighten the burden in our hearts.
Praying For Money
Many people automatically get the mindset that money is evil and isn't something that God will grant you with. However there are many verses in the Christian bible that states otherwise. Here are some examples:
2 Corinthians 9:11: "You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous in every way. Such generosity produces thanksgiving to God through us."
1 Samuel 2:7: "The LORD makes some poor and others rich; he brings some down and lifts others up."
Proverbs 10:22: "The blessing of the LORD makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it."
Use this method when praying for money:
- Admit that you need financial help and that you are coming to God for help.
- Acknowledge that God will provide for you.
- Ask for the amount of money you want.
- State what the money is for.
- Let the Lord walk with you and ask Him to give you wisdom to make better decisions in the future.
- Finally, know that you will receive the money.
With renewed hope, we are able to look at our problems in a different perspective and help us look for a better solution. So pray ahead-it will do you wonders!
