101 Site Hosting Review
101 Site Hosting is a web hosting company based in British Columbia, Canada and has been operating since 2003. The company offers shared, dedicated and reseller web hosting packages. As to price, they are quite on the cheaper side of the market.
The company states on their website a 99.99% uptime although some groups indicate that they only have a 99.96% uptime. The company had also been under attack in 2014 which affected some of their clients sites. There are some negative reviews about how often sites would crash or be offline for a number of hours but there are also others who are satisfied with their uptime.
The company has offers a special starter package which includes 500 MB of disk space, 1 GB monthly bandwidth, email accounts, site builder, web tools, auto-responders, spam protection, domain management, backups, unlimited web pages, Installatron system, and support.
Their shared web hosting plans include unlimited disk space, bandwidth, MySQL, and POP/IMAP/FTP accounts, site builder and 1-click app installation, WordPress, Magento, shopping carts, and a lot more. They offer an in-house control panel, scripts such as PHP, Perl CGI, ASP, Ruby, IonCube and a lot more. They also offer Spam protection for all types of accounts.
Their Unlimited Plan features unlimited disk space, bandwidth, email accounts, subdomains, FTP accounts, MySQL databases, with free site building tools and app installations. The YourWay plan offers a very versatile hosting since you only have to pay for what you use and identify the features that you would like to include in your plan. Managed Web Hosting offers monthly management, unlimited bandwidth, disk space, and email accounts, a 5-page website, and one-on-one consultation with a web developer.
Their reseller hosting features 1 GB to 25 GB of disk space, 10 GB to 120 GB of bandwidth, full DNS management, subdomains, aliases, password protected directories, redirect URL, phpMyAdmin, Webalizer, POP3 and SMTP, web mail, access logs, catch-all, auto-responders, shared SSL, shopping carts, unlimited MySQL databases, daily backups, and SSI.
Dedicated hosting is offered in two plans. Dedicated Servers 1000 has 2.4 GHz Intel Pentium 4, 512 MB of RAM, 80 GB of disk space, unlimited bandwidth, 2 IPs, CentOS and Directadmin control panel. The Dedicated Server package has a 2.8 or3.0 GHz Xeon CPU, 1 GB RAM, and unlimited bandwidth.
Their Starter Package costs $29.99 initially but will revert to original pricing after the expiration of the first subscription. Their YourWay plan costs $2.50 per month, Starter Package for shared web hosting is $2.99, Advanced Managed hosting is $599.99 annually, Basic Managed hosting is $299 a year, Pro Managed hosting is $899.99 a year, and their Unlimited Plan is $8.95 a month. Their Mobile Mini Site package is $3.30 a month.
Their Reseller hosting packages costs from $24.95 a month for Small Reseller, $49.99 for Basic Reseller, $99.99 for Advanced Reseller, and $149.99 for Premium Reseller.
Dedicated hosting is available at $199.99 a month for Dedicated Server 1000 and $174.99 a month for Dedicated Server plan.
Support is available on all types of plans and they can be accessed via phone, email, knowledgebase, support ticket, and live chat. Clients say that they are satisfied with the quality of tech support with fast response periods.
Security is available through daily backups, shared SSL, anti-spam and anti-virus tools. You can also buy separately SSL certificates from GeoTrust and SiteLock for your site.
101 Site hosting is definitely made for individual and small to medium-scale business as their main web hosting offer focuses on shared and reseller hosting. They offer a wide range of features such as web admin tools, ecommerce tools, and email tools which will definitely be helpful for small business. Their WordPress features are also very favorable for bloggers. Their dedicated hosting is not that fully-featured and you do not also get a lot of options. Their reseller plans are somehow limited in terms of disk space and bandwidth. They could also offer a much better knowledgebase for their clients.
They offer one of the cheapest prices in the market but this only comes at initial subscriptions. I think this can be quite misleading since not everyone takes the time to read the fine print about their conditional offers. Their website is also not that easy to navigate and the descriptions of their plans are not that comprehensive so you cannot exactly figure out what features you will be getting. For that, I think the company has a 7 out of 10 rating.
