My mother is so over-protective!

Hey Jesse Neo!

This is so annoying! I want to hang out with my friends and my mum never lets me! she won't even let me head down to the cafe down the streets along. She think it's not a place I should go. For goodness I'm 14 now! What should I do? All my friends can't believe how my mum is treating me! It's making me go insane!

Dear Caitlin,

Sometimes the person that cares most about you don't know how to show it. Your mum actually really cares about you and wants you to be safe. If this is really bothering you I suggest you have a talk about her and convince how she is ruining your life, and that you are mature enough to look after yourself.

You may want to talk with her about having your own cell phone so that you can call her in times of emergencies. At first to get her trust, you may want to do simple thing such as heading back down to that cafe with the phone, and then gradually work it off from there.
