In Love With Sister's Older Friend

Hey Jesse Neo!

I have a question about a crush that I've had for years. When my older sister first started hanging out with her friends, I liked two of them but they've grown up thinking of me like their little sister because I'm the youngest. I was 13 when all of them were 16-17. Now I'm 18 and my crush is 21. He doesn't like me like that... I've never personally asked him in a few years but I'm way too much of a chicken to ever carry on a real conversation with him let alone. Any advice?

Dear Claudia,

If you can't talk to him in real life, why don't you send him an email or a SMS text message. Or maybe, you can ask your friend to tell him. But before you do that, you need to let your crush know that you truly care about him. Talk to him more but instead of jumping to the topic that you are really into him, ask him about his day and some other small talks until he is truly comfortable with you.
