In Love with a Shy Person

Hey Jesse Neo!

I have a massive crush on my best friend, but he's more of those shy people instead of going out with girls in his year. We already know that I love him and he doesn't mind. He always plays with me. I think he likes me too. But when my friend asked him to be my boyfriend, he replies, "I don't really want a girlfriend..."

How can I ask him to be my boyfriend without making a fool of myself? Or should I wait until he asks me?

Dear Phoebe,

Because he is already your best friend, questioning about his feelings may not be a big deal. The next time you see him, ask about how he feels about you and question if he wants to try going out with you. Explain to him that once he is your boyfriend, it doesn't mean he will have to see you every day or have extra burden added into his life. Instead, convince him why going out with you would be the best choice he'll ever make in his life.
