I've never really been in the popular crowd but I've always wished I did. I also don't have many friends so can you tell me how to make friends? I am always so nervous when meeting someone and I just don't think I can do it. Please help!

Dear Leigh,
I am sorry that you don't have many friends. But there are people everywhere and every one of them can have a chance to be your friend. Trust me, it is really easy to make friends.
When you see someone new such as in a party or at school, just walk up to them and say 'Hi!'. And believe me, they won't reply being rude with quotes such as 'Do I know you?' I have had met many people and none of them had said this to me. It is also a good idea if you go up to someone alone so you two will both be making new friends. Tell them what your name is, and then stick to topics about the weather, the present even, a newly released movie, school, or anything simple. Do not talk anything political or religious as it may offend them at the first time you meet. When both of you gets comfortable, it is time to make the next step. Ask for their number, email, MySpace, and then start contacting each other! Ask them to the movies, to come to your party, and so on. Your friends list will start growing bigger and bigger.
