I'm going out with this guy, Sean. He's the hottest guy in school and I know there are a lot of girls that are jealous of me. My best friend Vicky also has a crush on him, but before I dated Sean I asked her about her feelings towards him and the answer was always a "no".
One day we were fighting and I told everything about it to my other best friend, Diana. She promised not to tell anybody but broke her promise and told Vicky. Vicky took advantage of the situation and sent me a text claiming to be Sean. It's was all dirty talks and said me and Sean were over. The next day Sean apologized and I questioned him about the text, but he said it was not him.
I don't want my friends to be jealous of me. Some of them likes to tease and play mean pranks on me, and I don't like that. I'm 17 and preparing for college so I have to focus on studying instead of this, but it's still bugging me!

Dear Nadine,
It's common for friends to be jealous of each other but don't let it break your friendship. Right now your friends are all that you need, and Sean will only be there as a boyfriend. There are many things your friends know about you that Sean will never know.
As time goes by you will realize that boyfriends come and go, and ending friendships because of them is just not worth it! For now, I would advice you to concentrate on building your friendship again. Don't try to be enemies with anyone but instead invite them to the mall, movies, sit with them at lunch and just talk to them. Things will surely work out!
Also, because you?re going to be in college soon, life will change dramatically at that point. Lots of your friends will move away and you may not even see some in years. For now, just try to cherish what you have and stay focus on your study! There is more to life than boyfriends.
