Difference between love and like

There is this guy that I'm in love with and all my friend says I really like him, but I think I love him, and now I just don't know the difference between love and like. Is there a difference?

Dear Grace,

Love to different people can mean different things but because you asked me what it means, let me tell you my definition. Love is something that you're willing to commit to, to respect that person, and understand them. It is not only those romantic moments like going to the movies and stuff... there is just one small part of it.

If he is a guy that you're in love with but never asked him out, then this is only a crush. But this isn't a bad thing, ask him out, spend more time with him, and maybe the 'like' may turn into 'love'!
