Study Zone Tips

If you are serious about homework and get the most marks you have the potential to, the trick is to find yourself a private place where the only thing done is homework, and homework only! This means no eating, no drinking, no games, no thinking about your partner, etc.

1. The first rule is to make your place to be full-on studying only! Find yourself a place for you to sit with a desk, and never study on a bed, couch or floor because you won't do your best in it.

2. Keep it quiet! Plan the time when you study so it would be a time when it is absolutely quiet, maybe in the afternoon when all your family are out. Keep any television or radio sound away, and if you want to listen to music, make sure the music is instrumental or in a language you don't understand, because if it has words you understand, your brain will be too busy to pick up the lyrics than to concentrate on your homework.

3. Make sure your study area is comfortable enough. Let the lighting be bright with fresh air as you don't want to work in a cramped area. Make sure it's not too warm, and not too cold.

4. Stay organised with the equipments you need, such as textbooks, paper, and pens.

5. Keep the zone tidy. Try to keep it clutter free, and separate each subject's material into different sections. Don't bring anything magazines, toys, etc. because they will distract you!

6. Finally, keep the area of your studying to be yours only! Never invite a friend to study with you unless it is a group work, since socialing can keep you distracted. It is wise to put a "Do Not Disturb" sign at your door.
