Shared Computers Tips

If you are using a shared computer at home or wish to let the websites you've surfed remain secret or incase your parents/siblings find outs what you've been doing online, there are a few tips you can use to hide your activities.

1. If your computer has user accounts, you SHOULD defiantly get your own account where you can store all your private documents and friend list, locked with a password so no one can view them. Imagine what would happen if your ex suddenly lurked into your computer and then began stealing all your photos? >.<

2. Remember to use only your OWN email address when sending or instant messaging as the user of the address can view everything sent, and may also be identities as you. You don't want your mum or dad just seeing what your new Internet friend is saying to you, and then going crazy about them being a stalker or pedophile! Sheesh!

3. Did you know the browser you are using keeps track of all the websites you've been to? If someone like your parents typed "www.i" in your address bar, instantly sites like "www.iamgaycommunity.com" that you've browed a few days ago will show up. Now, you don't want your mum seeing that would you? This is why deleting your history and cookies is so important and should be done regularly. To do so, just go to "Options" in your browser and then select "Clear History" or something along those lines as it's different among different browsers.

4. If you have really really secret exclusive videos or images *coughs* that you can't ever possibly let anyone see, a good idea is to hide them is in a "hidden folder". Most of these folders are in your "WINDOWS" folder located in "Your Computer" that cannot be viewed unless permission is gained, and even if it is seen, there are soooo many folders that your mum or whoever won't even get a clue of which folder to look in.
